Frequently Asked Questions

As a wedding photographer throughout Sussex and the south east, I’m aware that you’ll have lots of questions. Feel free to get in touch if you’ve got any questions that I’ve not answered here.

What hours do you work on the day?

I’m flexible.  In general, I can be with you from when you as the bride are getting ready, and would normally expect to take my last picture after your first dance.

However, I offer flexible packages so feel free to ask me about extra time.  You don’t want to miss anything on the most important day of your life now, do you?.

I would hope to take a short break at some stage, but we can build that into your wedding day schedule.

Do you work with a second photographer?  I’d like someone to be with my groom, too.

Yes, I do.  Normally, I stay with the beautiful bride, capturing excitement and the atmosphere of her and of those closest to her.  However, the bridegroom is JUST as important so let’s talk about what you need.

How much do you charge?

This is a totally bespoke service, so I don’t (or rather I can’t) offer fixed fee packages, as each wedding is as different as the couples I photograph.  And, you may have 80 guests at your wedding, or 8, for example.  My skills reflect my charging structure. Please contact me to find out more.

I’ve been at weddings where the photographer took over.  You’re not like that, are you?

Goodness me, no.  I’m good with people and hyper-aware of where I need to be without treading on others’ toes – literally.

I aim to become a seamless part of the day.  To a certain extent us Brits like being told what to do on big occasions, so I balance gentle assertiveness with the deepest respect for what is, after all, a big occasion for all concerned.

I dress smartly, too.

How do you feel about people taking their own photographs?

No problem.  None at all, in fact.

Talking of which, why should we pay for a professional photographer when so many great images can be captured on an iPhone?

There’s no intrinsic reason why you shouldn’t do this and I agree, the iPhone camera is a marvellous thing.

However, your friends have come to the wedding to be a part of your celebration.  If you ask them to step up to the mark, it will be very stressful.  They’ll miss things.  It happens.

Investing in the services of a professional photographer means two key things:

  • You, your new life partner, your guests, everyone – will be able to relax and enjoy the day.

  • There will be stunning photographs that have captured every single special moment.

How quickly can you deliver our wedding photographs?

You will always receive your wedding images when I promise them, normally within two weeks of the day itself.  However, if I’m going to be away, there may be a slight delay.  As I’ll know about this in advance, I’ll always be able to manage your expectations.

Naturally, other unforeseen circumstances may affect things (although I can’t think of any right now), but I’ll always let you know what’s going on.

This aside, you’ll be able to look forward to seeing your wedding photos promptly, so mark the date in your diary.

What format do we receive them in?

You will receive your images in digital format as standard, as this is the most flexible delivery method.

I also offer a customized wedding album service for that exceptional, luxurious touch or, if you prefer, I can organize for sets of prints to be made.

Contact me for an initial chat.  I love what I do.  It’s my great passion and I would be honoured to be part of your wedding day.
